The Advocacy Committee stays on top of causes, policies, legislation and beliefs that affect copyright law and our members. Our concerns are numerous:
This means we tread on a lot of toes and into a lot of different places, such as corporate offices, congressional meetings, artist's studios and art colleges across the country.
The Advocacy Committee publishes the Contract Monitor, which gives you all the information you need to decipher, negotiate and write your own contracts. Click here for more info. (add link)

The purpose of the Communications Committee is to, well, communicate. Just about everything you get from us probably went through them: Guild News; the website; and the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing and Ethical Guidelines.
The committee works with the National Office as well as outside professionals to make sure you get all the information you need in a way that makes sense and is easy to find.
Communications Chair: Rebecca Blake

These are the folks who solicit new members and encourage existing ones to be more active. (Yeah, sometimes they’re pushy, but that’s a good thing.) They – like the rest of us – believe there is power in numbers and do whatever they can to increase those numbers – and our power.
Representatives from each chapter are on the committee, so they’re everywhere. The committee puts together campaigns to bring in new members, keep current members and make sure it’s always worth your while. It also provides training in leadership, meeting skills, and volunteer recruitment and management.
Membership Chair: David Veal
